Good Morning America Co-Anchor Robin Roberts & CNR Chair of Board of Trustees Elizabeth Bell LeVaca to Receive Honorary Degrees at 109th Commencement for CNR

The College of New Rochelle (CNR) will mark its 109th Commencement on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at The Beacon Theatre, awarding approximately 1,000 baccalaureate and master’s degrees on students from its four Schools and conferring honorary degrees on Robin Roberts, television broadcaster and co-anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America and Elizabeth LeVaca, Chair of the Board of Trustees at The College of New Rochelle. Roberts will give the Commencement address.

The Business Council of Westchester to Honor Dean of Students

The College of New Rochelle is pleased to announce that Dean of Students Tiffani Blake has been selected as one of The Business Council of Westchester’s 2016 Rising Stars. The Rising Stars program is the BCW’s “40 under 40,” honoring individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, creativity, innovation and professionalism.

CNR Professor Delivers Lecture on Grief

More than 100 attendees gathered in Maura Ballroom at The College of New Rochelle to hear Dr. Kenneth Doka, professor of gerontology, deliver a lecture, “Growing in Grief,” on April 19. With the aim of educating knowledgeable and compassionate criminal justice professionals, The College of New Rochelle School of Arts & Sciences has launched a new degree program in Justice and Criminal Studies (JCS). Alyssa Medina SAS’17, a biology major at The College of New Rochelle, has been selected to receive the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad in Costa Rica this summer. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the scholarship program aims to diversify the students who study and intern abroad, as well as expand the variety of countries they visit.
