CNR Hosts Hudson Valley Women’s Roundtable Dialogue

The College of New Rochelle’s Maura Ballroom was the site of the first Hudson Valley Women’s Roundtable on Thursday, April 28, 2016. Co-chaired by Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul and CNR President Judith Huntington, the event featured a panel of 17 women representing a cross-section of leaders from the government, education, business, and nonprofit sectors. Lynda Shand: CNR Nurse Education Program Uses 21st-Century Technology

During a recent meeting of her class “Nursing Care of Children,” Dr. Lynda Shand, associate professor of nursing and coordinator of The College of New Rochelle’s newly revised M.S. in Nursing Education program, presented students with a hypothetical patient—a child with asthma. “What are the four most important issues to assess right now?” she asked. Students were then required to dig into their material, process it, and present it back through a designated technology platform such as the social writing platform Wikispaces or VoiceThread, an interactive collaboration and sharing tool. Honors Conference Day Showcases CNR Scholarship

Students representing many facets of Honors studies at The College of New Rochelle held a celebration of their collective scholarship on April 21, 2016. The 31st Annual Honors Conference Day featured presentations by members of the Honors Junior Colloquium, participants in various Honors seminars, and students who studied away from campus, among others. Approximately 150 people attended the event, which was held in Sweeny Student Center. READ MORE >

Through a variety of activities including Special Olympics team competitions; nursing home visits; and book, food, and school supply drives, The College of New Rochelle celebrated its 11th annual Community Service Day on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. The College of New Rochelle and Signature Bank Collaborate to Improve Financial Literacy for Students

There is an understandable focus on ensuring that students emerge from college not only with a degree but also with the skills and background to succeed in their careers. With the further goal of ensuring that students have the understanding to navigate their financial affairs during and after their education, The College of New Rochelle and Signature Bank have partnered to offer students a new Credit for Credit program for financial literacy.
